Join BotsIQ for its annual STEAM Showcase! All are welcome!
Sparks will fly as high school students test their robotic creations in gladiator-style battles during BotsIQ’s exciting combat robotics competitions at Commonwealth Charter Academy’s TechWorks in Homestead, PA. Attendance is limited to the participants, however all events will be live streamed online and outside at the Waterfront area.
Additional exhibits and opportunities to learn more about advanced manufacturing and robotics careers will be available in the Waterfront’s common areas.
TechWorks at CCA will host a table with hands-on STEM activities for participants, while the CCA Boston Dynamic Spot robotic dog makes a special appearance. AquaJack, the mobile aquaponics lab from the CCA AgWorks Facility in Harrisburg will be on hand to welcome participants inside to explore the world of aquaponics. Agworks is home to the largest educational aquaponics facility in the country, and guests will be able to interact with the mobile lab.
Intermediate Unit 1’s Mobile Fab will also be on-site with hands-on activities and to share more about its technical platforms for STEM education, workforce development, and business idea prototyping. With the IU1’s Fab Labs, students have the opportunity to explore the engineering design process in authentic and real-world contexts using tools that enable them to go from concept to drawing, models to prototype, and redesign to final product. The IU1 Fab Labs give students the tools to develop practical and critical thinking skills they will need to be the inventors and innovators of our future. Come out and learn more about the IU1’s programming and see the tools included in their Fab Lab such as computer design programs, 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, electronics, and machines for creating custom graphics.
