In southwestern Pennsylvania, BotsIQ is the largest high school manufacturing workforce development program, working with over 10,000 students since its inception in 2005. BotsIQ provides stipends to every school to offset tools and materials costs; offers transportation assistance to underserved districts; and provides scholarship to BotsIQ graduates to continue their career pathways after high school.
BotsIQ students learn technical and career ready skills needed by industry to fill the shortage of current and future employees. In 2021, more than 90% of students reported learning at least one technical skill (machining, welding, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and/or CAD) and 92% reported learning at least one 21st century skill (problem solving, project management, teamwork, leadership, and/or critical thinking).
